About Us

We are the Sell family from Butler, PA.  My name is Brian Sell and I grew up with my brothers, Howard III and Mark, in an all IH family in rural western PA.  My grandfather, Howard Sell, Sr. used IH farm and lawn & garden equipment on his small farm.  My uncle Wayne Sell used IH vehicles in his trucking business as seen above. Our Dad, Howard Jr., always drove IH pickup trucks.  A picture of our Dad's 1974 IH pickup he bought new, can be seen on the 'Contact Us' page and his 1964 IH pick-up can be seen on the 'Subscribe/Back Issue' page of this website.  He also had IH farm tractors and IH Cub Cadet garden tractors at our home while we were growing up so my brothers and I had plenty of opportunity to operate IH trucks and tractors!

To this day our family is avid IH equipment and memorabilia collectors and have been members of the International Harvester Collectors Club (IHCC) for many years.  We can often be found over the last two decades at gas and steam engine shows throughout the tri-state area during the spring and summer months promoting our sister publication, the Cadet Connection magazine.  We have been publishing the Cadet magazine since 2001, see the 'Sister Publication' tab for more info on the Cadet Connection.

Photo Recreation:

The picture on the left was taken in approx. 1970 at my Dad's house.  It is a picture of his red/white 1964 C-1100 pickup with a BG-241 engine and three on the tree with the bonus load bed and cab lights.  The picture on the right was taken in 2016 in as close to the same location as possible.  It is my 1963 C-1000 pickup, it also has the BG-241 engine and three on the tree with a stepside bed and cab lights.  My truck was all white and I had the hood and roof painted red so it would be the opposite color scheme of Dad's.
